John – aka ‘The Photog’

John is my husband and can be described as having a dry sense of humor. When you meet him you think he is this quiet, patient, ‘poor abused by his wife’ guy, but in all honesty, he is a strong, opinionated perfectionist and my complete opposite. God put us together as entertainment for himself. I’m not kidding! If ever two people were ever polar opposites, it would be us. He is patient and calm (most of the time), a thinker, doesn’t make decisions quickly and is quiet in group settings. And, then there’s me. Impatient, never calm, likes change, a risk-taker and loves a crowd of people. We compliment each other and make an incredible team, but when we butt heads, well, let’s just say, it’s not pretty.

John is incredibly smart. I’m not sure why he knows some of the things he knows, but he knows them. The history channel is his preferred channel. (Whatever!!) He has an architectural engineering degree and almost a civil engineering degree, but right before he was to get that degree decided that it wasn’t for him.  WHAT??!!

He is so good with children. We decided not to have children, but our life is full of them. Little kids are drawn to John so photographing children is one of his specialties.  John is also the master of photographing newborns. Our clients want him to go home with them and put their babies to sleep. (Hey, there could be a whole new business in there somewhere.) John was filmed photographing a newborn session to educate thousands of professional photographers throughout the country and abroad. Our clients have been calling him the “Baby Whisperer” for years, but now the whole country knows him as that. Between the two of us, we have 9 nieces and nephews and John’s goal in life was to go through his whole life without changing a diaper. Well, so far he hasn’t changed a diaper, but he has been pooped on and pee’d on more than anyone. Serves him right!!!

I am so lucky to be married to John. It’s going on 25 years next February (Yes, I was incredibly young when we married. ;) Many say they couldn’t work with their spouse and stay married and while there are days  #!*&*$!  I wouldn’t have it any other way.
